Add speed to your software without spending money

friends have asked me if adding more memory would make their computer run faster. i would say, "yes, but i don't think you'll be happy with the speed you'll get for the money you spent."

well, there is a way to temporarily make your program open and close faster without adding more ram. follow the steps below and email to me what you've experienced so we may share them with the other readers.

these steps are tested on computers running windows xp.

How to turn off Windows XP visual effects to make programs run faster:

1) left click on "start"
2) right click on "my computer"
3) scroll down to "properties" and left click it
4) look for the "advanced" tab and left click it
5) now, left click on the "settings" tab under performance

6) and then, left click on "adjust for best performance" under visual effects and left click "apply". you will notice that the mouse pointer will change into an hour glass and you'll see a "please wait" box with a windows logo. this means that windows is applying the changes you've selected. wait...do not click the "ok" button yet, and do not close the performance options menu yet.
( left click the picture to see a bigger size and see it better, then
click on the back button of internet explorer to go back to this tutortial )

after waiting and when the hour glass turns to mouse pointer open one of your programs.
notice the difference!? it is now running faster. now, you might be wondering if the quality of your digital pictures are affected. the answer is no. we altered how you see windows, we did not edited and saved your images.

the trade-in is, the menu is not stylish; there's no shadows, 3-d effects, and visual style.
the advantage is, you can now open outlook, word, and your accounting program faster.

7) now that you have finished creating invoices, or reading and replying to emails,
and is now wanting to see windows with visual effects.
if you have not closed
the performance menu,
left click "let windows choose what's best for my computer", then left click on "apply",
wait...then left click "ok" to close the performance options menu.

visual effects is now turned on.

8) if you have closed the performance menu,
follow steps 1 to 5, then
left click "let windows choose what's best for my computer", then left click on "apply",wait...then left click "ok" to close the performance options menu.

visual effects is now turned on.

you have managed to make your programs run faster without
spending a dime and learned how to change the appearance of windows xp.
good job! good luck, well done.
